3 DCT Based Human Activity Recognition Method Our proposed method is a simple discrete cosine transform based technique. DCT is one of the most used transforms in computer vision ﬁelds, because it shows interesting proprieties, for example it allows the concentration of the signal information (energy) in few coefﬁcients, we tried to use this propriety to describe human activities from silhouettes.
